This is a smaller scaled version of the Master Sword I previously made, measuring at 80cm long as apposed to the previous. This gives you the option as to which Link you would like to cosplay as, because his sword is different sizes in different games :)
''IT'S DANGEROUS TO GO ALONE! TAKE THIS.''
The Master Sword, also known as The Blade of Evil's Bane is a recurring legendary sword in the Zelda series. Originally crafted by the goddess Hylia as the Goddess Sword, it was later forged into the Master Sword by the goddess' chosen hero and its spirit FI, who bathed it in the three Sacred Flames located across the ladn that would become the Kingdom of Hyrule. Din's Flame in particular, imbued the sword with the power to repel evil, a power apparently augmented after the sword recieved the blessing of Zelda, which transformed the blade into the True Master Sword.
I decided to 3D Model this sword using Rhino after seeing lots of master sword models out there, but not one representing a full scale sword from The Ocarina of Time. This is perfect for cosplay as Link!
I decided to use dowel joints within this model to hold it together instead of using dovetails. The dowels keep the model sturdy, keep seams between printed pieces to a minimum and increase the weight of the object to feel more like a true sword. The dowels used are 5.5mm diameter, although any dowel close to the size of this will fit well.
THIS ENTIRE SWORD IS SUPPORT FREE TOO
I have also modelled the sheath for this blade which is available from this Link :) also watch this space for updated photos of the sword fully painted and hopefully a fun video or two to go with.

printed at 0.2mm layer height with 10% infill, zero support and 3 dowels running through the object to give strength.

Did a quick 50% scale version. My friend at 'Its an Ashton' and I are going be using it for a display model celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the Legend of Zelda. Amazing work on the model, such great quality of detail. Printed all parts at once in just under 4hrs at 15% infill (for a little extra strength) and at 0.2mm layer using ABS.
