Open Design Competition

Welcome to the Chess and Pen Design Open Competition.

The competition has closed for entries. Thanks to everyone who has submitted, there have been some great entries. We have been printing your entries constantly since we started to receive them. There are still many more to print and then they need to be photographed. They will all be uploaded at the same time ready to receive downloads! If you havn't done so already, please send a render and description of your design to go alongside the photographs of the 3D prints. You will all be contacted before the download period starts. Enter your design for either a 3D Printable Chess Set or a Pen. The winner will receive a free UP! Mini worth $1300 and the runner up will receive the new Yaya 3D Printing Pen worth $120.

We will be accepting entries from the 29th of August to 13th of September. After this all the entries will be posted on the website for two weeks, the design with the most downloads will be the winner! 

There are a couple of examples shown in this category for inspiration.

Additional Information: You can enter from anywhere in the World. The size of the design is up to you. If you decide to create a Chess design, the board is not necessary but can be included if you think it is an important part of your design. There is no need to register, just send in your name and design as an STL format to ralph@myminifactory.com. 

On the 13th September we will announce that the designs are being uploaded and every upload will have it's own personal page to receive downloads from.
