HBP Heated Build Plate For The Makerbot Replicator 2 & 2X - Makes Your Replicator A Real Tool!

The Replicator 2X already has a heated build plate, but it is not really high quality. The Replicator 2 does not have one at all.
Without a headed build plate you can only print PLA, the heated built plate breaks this limitation and enables ABS and many other filaments. PLA can be printed better with the heated build plate too!
While you need 90°C for ABS you can work with 60°C for PLA, the material sticks perfect at this temperature and you have less/no warping on bigger prints.
Our build plate uses the whole build volume of your Replicator 2 or 2X, the plate is bigger than the original 2X HBP and so you have a more stable temperature at the side areas.
The plate is "plug & print", that means you have not to solder or so. The Replicator 2 and 2X have both the same board, so both versions have the connectors for the heated build plate and the temperature sensor wich are both integrated in our plate. You just have to plugg in one connector and connect the heater with 2 screw clamps on the board - thats it!

. The build plate can be used with tape as usual, in addition we integrated 4 magnets. We will offer some snap on surface plates from glass and other materials soon. You can put that on top of the build plate do play around with different surface materials. Glass for example is perfect for serial parts: you print when heated and it sticks well, after cooling down you can just take off the object without force. You can read about this materials in several forums.
Cause of the magnets the changing of the snap on plates is very easy and fast!

The Replicatur 2 is usually shipped with a 6.25A power supply, the 2X has a stronger 9.2A power supply.
We made some tests:
With the original 6.25A power supply of the Replicator 2:
preheat time to 60°C (we use that for PLA) 2min 10sec
preheat time to 90°C (we use that for ABS) 5min 5sec
preheat time to 100°C 6min 5sec
With the 9.2A power supply of the 2X (you can order that separately from us if you want):
preheat time to 60°C 1min 49sec
preheat time to 90°C 4min 28sec
preheat time to 100°C 5min 36sec
Time needed for the upgrade:
about 10 minutes, can be made by everyone without special skills.
The set can be built out and downgraded to the original factory condition without problems. There is no manipulation on the original parts needed.
The upgrade built plate is compatible to the original Replicator 2 & 2X Z-axis as well as (for sure) with our Z-axis upgrade.
