The self watering planter is quite an intuative design allowing anyone to easly create bueatiful and healthy plant's. Unfortunatly the set up is very complicated and complex. Now with the new fully 3dprintable Family Friendly Self Watering Planter anyone can set it up in second's with the convenient two piece design! All it take's are four simple step's: first print the part, then dirt and plant to the dirt container, add water to the vase, and enjoy! With unique design the user can sit back and relax and not have to water for day's or even week's at a time while there plant enjoy's a healthy life! It's shape will fit in almost any kind of lifestlye or home as a great piece of decor! With it's simplicity it is recommended for beginner gardener's when learning the basics of gardening. Thank you very much for your interest!
Printer Specs
Note: Currently I own a delta printer which did not have enough diameter to fit the water vase onto the build plate. I then scaled both part's down in Cura to .8 the size and inserted support's "Everywhere" and had a total time of 1037 minuet's in total at that size...
Reccommended Fill Density: Because these part's will have contact with water for extended periods of time it is manditory that both part's be watertight! The recommended fill density is 60% at minimum and 100% for best results.
Reccommended Micron Layer: As usuall the higher the micron (like 75 microns or 100) the better, but in the need of time it is reccommended the part be printed at .2, but if you have a fast print speed printer go ahead and print at .1
Reccomended Printer: This design should work with most if not all printer's but was originally designed for an FDM 3dprinter.
Reccomended nozzle material: Although brass is the usual standard for almost all 3dprinter nozzle's, it has trases of lead in it. It is reccommended that if one every decides to grow plant's they eat using this planter, to print out the part's in a stainless steal nozzle or any other sort of nozzle not containing lead.
***Although the standard nozzle's tend to contain lead it is so miniscual that one doesn't really have to worry, but why risk?
Reccommended Material: Almost any material should work for this part. For an FDM printer using ABS and PLA will most likely give best results
Reccomended Supports: For this part I am using Cura adding supports "Everywhere", if lot's of supports are added, the part should come out fine.
