Overview:
My Twisting Jigsaw Puzzle is meant to add an additional challenge to a classic jigsaw-style puzzle. Because the edge and inner pieces twist diagonally, there are many more combinations of pieces. However, there should be only one that is correct. Before solving the puzzle, mix up the pieces and twist some of them so that they are not in the correct orientation. This will mean that you will not only have to find pieces that fit together, but also determine which angle the pieces should be at, adding a new level of difficulty to an existing style of puzzle.
This puzzle is based on the mechanism of some of my twisting puzzles on Thingiverse, but I decided to make it into a jigsaw puzzle in order to create something very unique.
My settings:
- Infill: 35%
- Support: None
- Material: PLA (most materials should work)
What you will need to print:
- 21 Cores
- 1 of everything else
Assembly:
Keep track of the pieces so that you can properly assemble them. Use a vise or similar tool to pop a core into a piece. You can wrap them in a cloth as you do this so that you do not leave any marks. Then, use the same method to pop the other half of the piece onto the core. If a piece is named, for example, Edge 1-1, make sure that you assemble it with Edge 1-2. Otherwise your puzzle likely will not function correctly.
