Description
Beautiful sculpt. This is why I enjoy resin printing so much. You get to take digital art and make it real.
Print is aggressively hollowed and very light. Standard for an Ernest model. It's also a bit finicky. Each print had a partial failure on the arms. For the black and silver it was the right arm. For the green and gold it was the left arm. You can't see the problem with the right arm, but if you look very carefully at the left arms you can see it. The bottom of the elbow is missing. Same error happened on the right arm of the other print. If you get the same problem adding some microsupports all along the elbow areas was enough to solve for me. Also a few of the plant files failed on printing. These are delicately supported files that leave no pimples or divots, but be careful.
Please note that these prints were done in adverse conditions of 60f/15c, well below the manufacturer's recommended temperature for this resin! (Anycubic standard Resin recommend use temperature is 25c/77f)
Under recommended conditions you may not have any issues. However, other prints have done just fine under the same conditions, so this model seems more sensitive than others. This is not a criticism of the product, simply a warning to fellow hobbyist who may also be working under less than ideal conditions.
1st finish is Rust-oleum 2x Hunter Green primer/paint as the base, dry-brushed with Rub n Buff gold leaf metallic wax.
Gives it a interesting enameled look.
2nd finish is Rust-oleum 2x black gloss primer/paint as the base, dry-brushed with Rub n Buff silver leaf metallic wax.
This is the first metallic wax/paint combo I tried and still one of my favorites. It makes the details pop, and the silver seems to have a smoother application than the gold.
